Mr. Manuel Malaquias, is a Portuguese Ph.D. candidate student at the Natural History Museum, London. He specializes on shelled opistobranchs, and is currentely undertaking a project that aims to revise the systematics of the family Bullidae and to understand the patterns of biogeography of these molluscs at a global scale. He is also a participant at the Fauna Iberica Project where he is in charge of the bullomorph gastropods and is a member of the Directive Board of the Portuguese Malacological Institute (IPM). Here in Panglao, he is working with a team who is tasked to study the opistobranch molluscs; collaborating in the collecting, sorting, identification, photography, preservation, and barcoding. manm@nhm.ac.uk
